Our Families
We have the best families. Meeting each one individually where they are is extremely important.
Between NICU stays, mulitples, breastfeeding after cancer, oral tethers, and anxiety about baby getting enough it has been my pleasure to help these families.
Their own words
Kathleen & Twins
I highly recommend Bethany Salguero to any woman who is planning on breastfeeding or currently breastfeeding. As a new mom of twins, I was completely overwhelmed with
breastfeeding when I first sought out Bethany’s guidance. I can still remember the first time I met her; she seamlessly developed a rapport with my twins, partner, and myself while gently bouncing one of my crying twins. I can honestly say that I immediately felt comfortable with her, which was necessary to be able to ask questions and discuss sensitive issues. As I continued to have sessions with Bethany, her expertise and knowledge of current research in the field was
evident. In addition, she provided me with positive reinforcement as my breastfeeding coach and cheerleader.
I’ve often heard that lactation consultants and breastfeeding support can be overbearing, but Bethany was the exact opposite. She was always genuinely invested in my well-being as a mom and an individual. Even though she is very passionate about breastfeeding, I never felt pressured. Instead, Bethany catered each session to my individual needs and where I was in my breastfeeding journey. She actively solicited my questions and provided me with options and information to make the decision that was best for my family and myself.
I can wholeheartedly say that I would not have made it to my 6 month goal of breastfeeding had it not been for Bethany. I am currently starting my 8th month of breastfeeding and know that I
will make it to my new goal of 1 year with Bethany by my side. I am forever grateful to Bethany for her guidance, knowledge, and genuine nature as I have two very healthy and happy twins!
Lauren & Baby girl
My breastfeeding journey would have ended a long time ago if I had never met Bethany. She has been an absolute saving grace and I can now say, exactly 5 months out, that I absolutely love breast feeding. Bethany has traveled to my house to work with me on multiple occasions to help troubleshoot feeding issues I had been experiencing at different stages.
It was amazing to have her as a resource in the comfort of my own home, which also allowed my husband to actively participate in learning. She is incredibly knowledgeable and has helped me through numerous stages: soreness and discomfort a week after birth, mastitis 3 weeks later, and back to work recommendations and pumping schedules. I can honestly say that if I had not found Bethany, I would have stopped breastfeeding after having mastitis. She was extremely supportive and made recommendations to help ease the pain and prevent it from recurring. She is up to date and her recommendations are all evidence based.
She regularly checks in with me via text to see how my BF journey is going and answers any questions I may have. She is a resource that you absolutely need to add to your support system. I cannot thank her enough for everything she has done, as breastfeeding has become such a special time for me and my daughter. Thank you Bethany!
Andrea & Baby Boy
I was paired with Bethany through the Lactation Network, and I am so glad she was my lactation consultant. From the moment she came over for the 1st time she was warm, friendly, understanding, and kind. My son was only about a month old when she 1st came over. He was a tiny baby, and he and I were struggling with latching. We had a tough time in the hospital, I was told he had a tongue tie and they removed it, but we were having problems. The lactation consultant they had in the hospital just made the whole situation worse for us. I turned to pumping to provide for him, but I wasn’t making a lot, and was stressed out.
I am so glad Bethany came when she did! She identified that my son had tongue, lip and cheek ties, and that his head was asymmetrical. She referred me to her physical therapist to help us work through those issues, and later referred us to the dentist that removed all my sons' ties. She also helped me come up with a schedule and gave me tips to increase my supply.
She made several follow up visits from there, including the visit that over went over the process involving the tongue tie procedure, and came after it was done to follow up and helped us in making sure we were doing the stretches correctly.
She has always been available and responded timely anytime I have texted her and has given great advice and support.
We did try to get my son back to nursing for a while, before and after his procure, but it didn’t work out for us. I was able to pump for him for over 6 months. I also have had to supplement with formula, but thanks to Bethany’s support I felt proud for what I was able to do for him. I don’t think I could have made it as long as I did, if I didn’t her on my side, and being able to get support when I needed it.
My husband and I are so incredibly thankful for her in helping us navigate feeding our son. We never would have known about the ties or his asymmetrical. All those issues have been resolved, and he is the happiest little guy around!
When I was pregnant, I had friends tell me to make sure I got a lactation consultant, I am so happy I did! She is far more insightful and understanding than who they will pair you with in the hospital. I have already told other women I know that are pregnant or hoping to be pregnant soon to reach out to her. I already know that when the time comes to have our 2nd baby, I will be contacting her again to help us out!
Ariel & Little Man
Bethany is the BEST! Due to a surgery I had been told that it was possible I wouldn’t be able to breastfeed. With my second baby on the way, I knew I wanted to try everything I could to breastfeed even just a little. Through my search for an IBCLC I found Bethany. One appointment with Bethany and my entire outlook on feeding my baby changed. I went from unsure and nervous to completely confident and ready to breastfeed my baby. Her skills, advice, suggestions and positivity got me to a place where I knew what I needed to do before my baby was even born. Bethany went on to coach us through a NICU stay with encouraging words and suggestions, she helped diagnose oral issues, and provided a plan to meet our long term goals. She was my number one cheerleader the whole way. We are 8 months in and successful, comfortably and confidently breastfeeding because of Bethany’s unmatched expertise and support. All mamas deserve to have Bethany in their corner!
Sarah & Baby girl
As a first time mom, I had a lot of questions and concerns when it came to breastfeeding. Bethany did a great job of educating and encouraging me. She helped me come up with a plan when my baby girl was slow to gain weight, in addition to helping me plan for my transition back to work. With Bethany’s support and guidance, my daughter is now gaining weight appropriately and I’m more confident that I’m giving my baby what she needs. I highly recommend Bethany to anyone who needs lactation support!
